Here are a few shots of Hana in the kitchen, under the supervision of Pat:

Hana Takes Up Kayaking

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

With Halloween approaching, we thought it best to bring Pat’s kayak home from  Pleasant Lake.  We brought Hana along, figuring it is good to expose her to a variety of new situations.  This was also Hana’s first full exposure to Pleasant Lake, and water in general.  Pat did just a minor amount of paddling, close […]

Hana Indoors

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Here is a shot of Pat and Hana in the family room tonight.  When Hana is tired, as she was tonight, she makes a pretty good lap dog (at least temporarily).

Hana on Her Leash

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Hana is getting decent enough on her leash, not great mind you, that today we drove down to Pleasant Lake and hiked on the trail for a bit.  She seemed to enjoy the experience.  Here is a shot of her and Pat along the trail:

Interesting Wrinkle in High School Football

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

There was an article in the paper today about the Minnesota Academy for the Deaf and their game against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton. This was a nine-man game in the Section 2 playoffs. A good part of the article focused on the fact that the academy only has 48 students, with only 13 players in uniform for the […]

Cyclo Cross

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

This afternoon I went to a Christmas tree farm near Taylors Falls to photograph a cyclo cross race, the Red Barn Classic.  The course was pretty flat, winding in and around the Christmas trees, but there was one hill  that appeared to be a bitch.  There was also one place on the course where the […]

Thrilling Nicknames of Yesteryear

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

An article in this morning’s Star Tribune discussed the resolution of the lawsuit involving the University of North Dakota and the NCAA.  The issue revolved around the use of the “Fighting Sioux” mascot by UND.  UND can continue to use the Fighting Sioux if, by 2010, they get approval from two tribes,  Spirit Lake and […]

This is the 35th anniversary of the release of the movie Deliverance, which was filmed on the Chattooga River.  The NY Times had an article on the river today, and I liked the part where they talked about the T-shirt from US Graphics.  This shirt is the biggest seller in their 12 years of existence, […]

High School Cross Country – Section 5AA Meet

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

This afternoon I went over to Bassett Creek Park in Crystal for the Section 5AA cross country championships, the section that Mounds View now is in. The park is quite nice – lakes, ponds, not totally flat; good place for a cross country meet. Having finished first, the Mounds View boys will be at the […]

High School Cross Country – Section 4AA Meet

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

This afternoon I went over to the Goodrich Golf Course to photograph the Section 4AA cross country championships. Mounds View had been in this section for years, but is now in Section 5AA. Section 4AA now appears to have all the St. Paul schools, along with assorted other schools such as Stillwater, White Bear Lake, […]
