I recently finished a book that Greg gave me, “Bears: A Brief History” by Bernd Brunner. This small book contains an eclectic collection of information on bears. The most interesting tidbit was the idea that some of the aristocrats in Europe considered themselves to have descended from bears, notions that persisted into the eleventh century.
